1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HauntMap ("the Service") at www.haunt-map.com or via our mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

HauntMap is an interactive platform that allows users to explore, discover, and submit haunted locations from around the world. Users can create accounts, log experiences, and contribute location data to the map.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User-Submitted Content

You may submit locations, descriptions, photos, and experiences ("Content") to HauntMap. By submitting Content, you:

  • Confirm the Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • Grant HauntMap a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute the Content within the Service
  • Confirm you have the right to submit the Content and it does not infringe any third-party rights

We reserve the right to remove any Content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or defamatory content
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Submit content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior consent
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service in bulk

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

HauntMap is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted location data or the existence of paranormal activity at any location. You visit any locations listed on HauntMap entirely at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HauntMap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or any outcomes from visiting locations listed on the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

All design, branding, logos, and original content created by HauntMap remain the intellectual property of HauntMap. You may not reproduce or use these without prior written permission.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites and encourage you to review their terms and privacy policies.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of significant changes where possible.
